Healthy North Coast is the not-for-profit organisation behind the North Coast Primary Health Network, commissioning healthcare services for communities from the Hawkesbury to the Tweed. Their website has to work hard for two very different audiences at once: GPs and health professionals looking for clinical tools, programs and support — and the community, often finding their way to help on a difficult day.
We designed and built the new hnc.org.au using our 4D process — Discover, Define, Design, Deliver — working closely with the Healthy North Coast team, pairing our knowledge of the latest web design and build techniques with their deep understanding of their region, their providers and their communities. The heart of the project was structure: untangling hundreds of pages into a clear architecture with two front doors, one for health professionals and one for the community, held together by a mega-menu that puts the whole system one click away. We sketched our way to it — navigation models, directory patterns, mobile behaviours — before a single pixel was designed.
The result is a fast, accessible site with warmth to match the brand: built-in page reading and translation, always-visible crisis support, and purpose-built tools like the Mental Health Directory — a searchable index of more than 230 practitioners across the region, filterable by profession, location, telehealth and bulk billing — designed so the right support is never more than a few clicks away.
